Spiny Chiton [Acanthopleura hirtosa]
Description
The Spiny Chiton is characterized by its large size, reaching up to 60mm in length. The girdle is typically brown and covered in long, bristle-like spines. The valves are brown or black and covered in granules. This species is usually found in intertidal zones along the Pacific coast of North America.
