Spinose Turban [Myrtea spinifera]
Description
A marine gastropod mollusk in the family Turbinidae. This species, also known as the Spinose Turban, is distinguished by its large, solid, conical shell with a turned-up periphery. The shell surface has spiral rows of spines or nodes. The color is typically brown or purple. It is found in the Indo-Pacific region, from the shallow subtidal zone to depths of 50 meters. It is nocturnal and feeds on algae.
