Southern Roundhead [Etmopterus granulosus]
Description
The Southern Roundhead is a species of deep-sea shark found in the Southern Hemisphere, specifically in the waters off New Zealand and Australia. It is known for its large eyes, two dorsal fins with a large spine on each, and a slender body. The Southern Roundhead inhabits depths of 300 to 700 meters and preys primarily on cephalopods and small fish. Like other roundheads, it is bioluminescent.
