Small Eyed Sole [Microchirus ocellatus]
Description
The Small Eyed Sole is a marine flatfish found in the eastern Atlantic, from Portugal south to Angola, including the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea. It is a small species, reaching a maximum length of 30 cm. It prefers sandy or muddy seabeds, usually at depths of between 20 and 100 meters. It feeds mainly on small bottom-living invertebrates.
