Sea Nettle [Chrysaora fulgida]

Sea Nettle
Description

Divers often spot this sea nettle as a translucent, jellyfish “bell” drifting just above the seafloor or along the edges of kelp and rocky habitats. Its trailing tentacles can look like a delicate, flowing fringe, and it may move slowly with the gentle pulse of its bell. Keep a respectful distance—stinging cells are present even when the jellyfish seems calm.
