Samla Pusilla [Samla pusilla]
Description
Samla pusilla, or the Tiny Pygmy Squid, is a marine cephalopod found in the Indian and Pacific Oceans. They are one of the smallest known squids, measuring less than 1.5 cm in length. They have a translucent body, which may appear pinkish due to internal organs. Samla pusilla is a nocturnal species that buries itself in the seafloor during the day and emerges at night to feed on small crustaceans and fish larvae.
