Salmon Shark [Lamna ditropis]
Description
The Salmon Shark is a species of mackerel shark found in the northern Pacific ocean. As the name suggests, its diet primarily consists of salmon. It is closely related to the Porbeagle, with which it shares a similar body shape. Identified by its spindle-shaped body, conical snout, large black eyes, and white belly. It's a fast swimmer and has a body built for chasing down its prey. It's known for its ability to maintain stomach temperature (homeothermy), which is unusual among fish.
