Saimaa Ringed Seal [Pusa hispida saimensis]
Description
The Saimaa Ringed Seal is a subspecies of Ringed Seal that is found only in Lake Saimaa, Finland. They have a dark, nearly black coat with light circular patterns. This seal species is adapted to life in freshwater and is one of the most endangered seals in the world with a population of around 400 individuals. Their diet mainly consists of fish.
