Royal Tulip [Fasciolaria princeps]
Description
The Royal Tulip is a large sea snail that can reach up to 30 cm in length. Its shell is typically brownish-red, with a lighter apex and a dark aperture. This species is found in the Western Atlantic Ocean, from North Carolina to Brazil, mainly living in sandy and muddy bottoms. It is also a carnivorous predator, mainly feeding on bivalves.
