Ringed Sandworm [Parapionosyllis annulata]

Description
The Ringed Sandworm is easily recognizable by the numerous rings or annulations along its body. It is often found in shallow coastal waters where it burrows into the sediment. This polychaete worm is a detritivore, feeding on organic matter found in the sediment. Its ringed body and long cirri are its distinguishing features.
