Rice's Whale [Balaenoptera ricei]
Description
Rice’s whales are lesser-known rorquals, so encounters are rare and can feel almost like a glimpse into the open ocean. Divers who are lucky enough to be in the right place may see a large, smooth-bodied animal moving calmly at depth, with occasional surfacing and a strong, purposeful glide.
