Reverse Lanternfish [Symbolophorus reversus]
Description
The Reverse Lanternfish, or Symbolophorus reversus, is a species of lanternfish found in the subtropical waters of the Pacific Ocean. They inhabit depths of 200-1,000 meters during the day, and near the surface at night. The Reverse Lanternfish uses bioluminescent photophores for communication and camouflage. It has a slender, elongated body, large eyes, and is typically silver-blue in color.
