Red Hawkfish [Cyprinocirrhites polyactis]
Description
The Red Hawkfish, also known as the Spotfin Hawkfish, is a species of hawkfish from the Indo-Pacific. It is occasionally found in the aquarium trade. It is found in coral reefs at depths of from 1 to 30 metres (3.3 to 98.4 ft), often in areas with mixed coral and rubble. This species can reach a length of 9 centimetres (3.5 in) SL. The Red Hawkfish has a very particular behavior, it tends to perch on coral and wait for prey, which usually consists of small crustaceans and invertebrates.
