Psammocora exesa [Psammocora exesa]

Description

This species is typically seen as a robust, encrusting coral with a rough, bumpy surface. Under a diver’s flashlight or in strong sunlight, the raised texture and tight arrangement of its skeletal features become especially noticeable. It’s a great example of how “hard coral” can still look like part of the reef’s natural rock texture.
