Pore Coral [Montipora edwardsi]
Description
Divers may spot Montipora edwardsi as a plating or encrusting coral with a distinctive, porous surface. The small openings and subtle ridges create a detailed pattern that becomes especially visible in clear water and strong sunlight. It often grows in reef areas where currents bring in food, making it a common “texture builder” in the reefscape.
