Pore Coral [Montipora dilatata]
Description
Montipora dilatata typically forms thick, spreading plates or lobes that can resemble a layered, wavy shelf on the reef. Divers will notice its porous surface—tiny holes that give it a distinctive, almost “sponge-like” texture from a distance. With the right angle of light, its colors can pop, making it a favorite for reef photographers and macro-focused dives.
