Pore Coral [Montipora delicatula]
Description
Divers often notice Montipora delicatula as a delicate-looking coral with a lace-like, encrusting or plating form. Its surface is dotted with small pores, and when light hits it, the coral can shimmer in subtle shades of brown, cream, or pale green. In healthy areas, it forms attractive, textured patches that add a “carpet” effect to the reef.
