Pore Coral [Montipora danae]
Description
Montipora danae typically forms encrusting or plate-like growth with a porous, well-defined surface texture. In clear water, its pale to colorful tones can look almost matte, with the pores breaking up the light. Divers may notice it as a “textured carpet” on rocks or reef slopes.
