Pore Coral [Montipora altasepta]
Description
This Pore Coral typically forms sturdy, plate-like or mound-like growths that stand out on reef slopes. Under good visibility, divers can see the raised structure and the characteristic pore-like surface that gives Montipora its “Swiss cheese” look. It’s usually not flashy, but it adds a lot of texture to the reef and is often surrounded by small reef fish and invertebrates.
