Pelagia discoidea [Pelagia discoidea]

Description

Divers sometimes notice Pelagia discoidea as a rounder, disc-like jellyfish shape drifting through the water column. Its translucent body and subtle coloration can make it look like a faint, moving “bubble” against the blue. Because it’s a pelagic species, sightings are usually in open-water dives rather than along the reef.
