Pectinia paeonia [Pectinia paeonia]
Description
This species of pectinia coral grows in delicate, plate-like or lacy forms, with fine ridges that create a distinctive, combed appearance. Underwater, divers may spot it as a textured patchwork on reef slopes, often partially shaded by surrounding corals. Its subtle structure makes it a favorite for macro photography, especially when light highlights the ridges.
