Palythoa calcaria [Palythoa calcaria]
Description
Palythoa calcaria is a common sight on rocky reef surfaces where it grows as an encrusting colony. Divers may spot it as a pale to tan patch with many small polyp mouths, and in moving water the colony can look more dynamic as polyps extend and retract.
