Palythoa bertholeti [Palythoa bertholeti]

Description

Palythoa bertholeti is typically seen as a spreading colony on hard substrates, where the surface appears densely packed with small polyp mouths. Divers often find it in sheltered reef areas or on vertical rock where it can capture food from passing water. Its mottled, encrusting look makes it a great “reef texture” subject during close-up dives.
