Palette Surgeonfish [Paracanthurus hepatus]
Description
The Palette Surgeonfish is an instant eye-catcher: vivid blue with a bold yellow tail and a striking, painterly pattern. Divers often see it cruising in small groups over reef slopes, using its sharp “scalpel” at the base of its tail as a warning when it feels threatened.
