Pacific Sardine [Sardinops sagax]
Description
Pacific Sardines are small, streamlined fish with blue-green backs and silvery white bellies. They are characterized by a symmetrical, forked tail and a single dorsal fin. They are typically found in schools, swimming in the upper layers of the ocean. Their diet primarily consists of plankton. They are a very important species for commercial fishing.
