Description
The Pacific Sand Sole is a flatfish species native to the Pacific Ocean, from the Gulf of Alaska to Baja California. It is distinguished by its diamond-shaped body, small head and mouth, and eyes located on the right side of the body. Its coloration varies from brown to olive-green, often with dark blotches or spots. It primarily inhabits sandy or muddy substrates, and feeds on a diet of crustaceans, worms, and small fishes.
