Pacific Halibut [Hippoglossus stenolepis]

Description
The Pacific halibut is a species of righteye flounder. This flatfish is native to the North Pacific Ocean and it is noted for its extraordinary size. Pacific Halibut are demersal, living on or near the bottom of the water and prefer water temperatures ranging from 3 to 8 degrees Celsius. They are distinguished by their diamond shape, gray-black color on their 'eyed' side, and a white belly.
