Northern Lampfish [Lampanyctus crocodilus]
Description
This species is found in the North Atlantic Ocean. It has a slender body shape with a slightly forked tail. The Northern Lampfish is a bioluminescent species with photophores arranged in lateral rows. It lives in midwater depths during the day and migrates towards the surface at night to feed on plankton.
