Net Coral [Alveopora excelsa]
Description
Alveopora excelsa is known for its net-like skeletal pattern, forming a compact, textured growth that looks almost woven. Divers may notice the coral’s small pores and intricate surface, which can host tiny organisms and add a lot of visual complexity to reef walls. With gentle water movement, the coral’s surface can appear to subtly “breathe” as polyps extend.
