Nerite Snail [Theodoxus fluviatilis]
Description
Theodoxus fluviatilis, commonly known as the freshwater nerite or river nerite, is a species of small freshwater snail. It has a gilled and an operculated shell that is usually less than 15 mm in size. The shell is thick and dome-shaped, patterned with various dark bands on a lighter background. It can be found in fresh and brackish environments, such as rivers, streams, and lakes, across Europe.
