Mycetophyllia reesi [Mycetophyllia reesi]
Description
Reef divers may recognize this species by its compact, bumpy growth form and the way its surface can look like a series of small, rounded lobes. Depending on the light and water movement, it can appear more textured and “alive,” with polyps that may be more noticeable at certain times of day. It’s a great example of how stony corals can still look soft and inviting up close.
