Moon Coral [Favites abdita]
Description
The Moon Coral is known for its large polyps that can be seen at night. It has a wide color range from green, yellow, brown, to gray. This species is found in shallow reefs and lagoons, usually in the upper reef zones. Despite its beautiful appearance, it is a highly aggressive species and tends to extend its sweeper tentacles at nighttime.
