Marylenae Triton [Charonia marylenae]
Description
This triton is a less commonly seen relative in the genus, but when divers do encounter it, the shell’s bold form and textured surface are unmistakable. It tends to be found on suitable benthic grounds where it can hunt, often appearing as a calm, slow-moving presence on the seafloor. Expect to see it partially tucked in at times, with activity centered around feeding opportunities.
