Madracis profunda [Madracis profunda]

Description

Madracis profunda is a deeper-water Madracis species, so divers are more likely to encounter it on deeper reef walls or during dives with good depth and visibility. In the dimmer light, its colonies can look more subdued in color, but its branching or finger-like form still adds distinct texture to the habitat. If you’re diving deeper, keep an eye out for these corals as part of the reef’s “quiet architecture.”
