Lowekeyes Stony Coral [Flabellum (Ulocyathus) lowekeyesi]
Description
This coral typically forms compact, plate-like growths that sit close to the substrate, making it easy to miss unless you slow down and look carefully. Divers may notice its patterned surface and the way it blends into rocky or sandy bottoms, then suddenly “pops” when a beam of light sweeps across it.
