Lobophyllia radians [Lobophyllia radians]
Description
This species typically grows as a low, brain-like or lobed mass, with valleys and ridges that create a dramatic, three-dimensional surface. Divers may spot fine color variation across the lobes—often with a slightly different hue in the grooves—making it especially photogenic. When conditions are right, the coral’s polyps can add a delicate, living texture to the rock-like form.
