Lion’s Mane [Cyanea muellerianthe]

Lion’s Mane
Description

This lion’s mane jellyfish typically appears as a broad, softly colored bell with thick, flowing tentacles that extend far beyond the bell. Underwater, it can look like a slow-moving “halo” as it drifts and pulses with the water. Divers often notice it most when it glides through kelp forests or open water, where its tentacles sway dramatically.
