Lesser Valley Coral [Platygyra acuta]
Description
Lesser Valley Coral forms rounded, boulder-like colonies with maze-like valleys and grooves on the surface. Divers often notice its subtle, brainy texture from a distance, and up close you can see the intricate channeling that gives it its “valley” look. It’s a great species to photograph because the colony shape and surface pattern catch light beautifully.
