Lesser Knob Coral [Cyphastrea ocellina]
Description
This species is known for its small, rounded knobs and a distinctive look that can include eye-like (ocellated) markings on the colony. Under good visibility, divers may notice the polyps standing out against the coral’s surface, creating a lively, speckled appearance. It’s a subtle but rewarding coral to observe from a few feet away and then again up close.
