Leaf Plate Montipora [Montipora foliosa]
Description
Montipora foliosa, known as Leaf Plate Montipora, is a coral species in the Acroporidae family. It is found in the Indo-Pacific region, from the Red Sea to Fiji, and is common in shallow reefs. The colonies form plates and tiers, which can be either horizontal or vertical. The surface of the plates has small verrucae and is covered in a fine layer of sand.
