Description
The Kalkan, also known as the Black Sea turbot, is a species of flatfish in the family Scophthalmidae. It is found in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. It has a thick, flat, diamond-shaped body with a small head and a large mouth. The Kalkan is a benthic species and inhabits sandy and muddy bottoms, where it feeds on small fish and invertebrates.
