Japanese Sand Tiger Shark [Carcharias japonicus]
Description
The Japanese sand tiger shark is a species of shark believed to inhabit the waters around Japan. It is known only from a few specimens and, like the Indian sand tiger shark, its taxonomic status is uncertain. It may be a synonym of Carcharias taurus, the sand tiger shark. Due to the lack of information, the habitat, behavior, and distinguishing features of this species remain largely unknown.
