Insigniteuthis dongshaensis [Insigniteuthis dongshaensis]
Description
Insigniteuthis dongshaensis is a deep-water species, so divers typically won’t see it on standard reef dives. In the open ocean, however, it’s the kind of squid that can appear as a quick, ghostly silhouette in the beam of a submersible light—built for life in the dim midwater.
