Iceland Scallop [Chlamys islandica]
Description
The Iceland Scallop is a species of deep-sea scallop found in the North Atlantic Ocean, particularly around Iceland and Greenland. They are found at depths of 20 to 100 meters on rocky or sandy substrates. They have a round, cream-colored shell that can reach up to 9 centimeters in diameter. The Iceland Scallop is a filter feeder, feeding on plankton and other small organisms.
