Hump Coral [Porites heronensis]
Description
Divers often spot this coral as rounded, dome-like mounds that can form low “humps” on the reef. Up close, the surface looks like a tight mosaic of tiny coral heads, and in good light it can appear pale to honey-colored. It’s a great species to photograph because its shape and texture stand out against sandy or rocky backgrounds.
