Hedgehog Coral [Echinopora ashmorensis]
Description
Divers often spot this coral as a low, bumpy mound with a rough, “spiky” look that earns it the hedgehog nickname. In good light, its surface texture becomes especially noticeable, and you may see small polyps peeking out as the coral feeds.
