Grey gurnard [Eutrigla gurnardus]
Description
The grey gurnard is a medium-sized fish, growing up to 50 cm in length. Its body is covered with large, hard, bony plates and it has a long, pointed snout. It lives on sandy or muddy sea floors, from the shoreline down to depths of about 150 m. It is found in the North-East Atlantic, from Norway to Morocco, and also in the Mediterranean and Black Seas.
