Glossy Dosinia [Dosinia exoleta]
Description
The Glossy Dosinia is a species of bivalve mollusk that is widely distributed in the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. It is characterized by a round, glossy shell that can reach up to 7 cm in diameter. The exterior of the shell is a uniform light brown, while the interior is white. It lives buried in sandy or muddy substrates, from the intertidal zone to depths of up to 100 meters.
