Glacial Whelk [Buccinum glaciale]
Description
Glacial whelks are sturdy, spiral-shelled snails that often blend into rocky or muddy bottoms. Divers may spot them slowly crawling along the substrate, using their muscular foot to search for food. Their shell shape and muted colors make them easy to overlook until you notice the deliberate movement.
