Giant False Cowrie [Plesiothyreus bednalli]
Description
The Giant False Cowrie is a species of sea snail. It has a large, elongated and thick shell that can grow up to 10 cm. The shell's exterior is characterized by a unique pattern of dark brown or black zigzag lines on a cream or white background. It is a nocturnal species, hiding during the day and becoming active at night to feed on algae and detritus. It can be found in the Indo-West Pacific region, specifically on the coasts of Australia and Indonesia.
